We will not pressure you to purchase. We want to be certain that you are comfortable and motivated before proceeding. In addition to hearing aids we also have the expertise to recommend complementary products that enable hands-free hearing aid operation with your cell phone, landlines, television, and other audio devices.

WARNING: Some hearing aid providers may fit you with “locked” hearing aids. When you purchase locked hearing aids, only that provider or other specific providers are able to connect your hearing aids to a computer for programming and adjustment. This limitation can be a problem if you relocate or if you simply want to go somewhere else for services. Unfortunately, no law requires providers to disclose that their hearing aids are locked, so YOU MUST ASK. At Hear So Good you can rest assured that any hearing aid we fit you with can be adjusted by any licensed provider. Our goal is for you to become one of our long-term patients, not because you have to but because you want to.

Attention To Details Matter

We often see patients who are frustrated with the hearing aids they purchased elsewhere – so much so that they put them away in a drawer. More often than not the hearing aids were never properly adjusted, the individual’s hearing has gotten worse, or a poor choice was made in how the device is coupled to the ear canal. In some instances, patients with poor eyesight or limited manual dexterity had been fit with devices too small for them to put in, change batteries, and operate correctly.

At Hear So Good we follow an 8-Point Checkup to pinpoint problems and recommend the best solution. The checkup includes a review of the difficulties you’re experiencing, a hearing test in our soundproof room, and a thorough cleaning and check of your hearing aids. You’ll receive a written report outlining what needs to be done to address your dissatisfaction. We may suggest modifying your ear-molds or ear-buds or adjusting the settings on your devices. Adjustments and many repairs can be done at our office. Some repairs may require us to send your hearing aids to the manufacturer.

Many of our current patients had purchased hearing aids elsewhere and spent thousands of dollars but were hearing only marginally better than without hearing aids. After performing our 8-Point Checkup we often find a problem with the way the hearing aids are coupled to their ears. Many providers use stock ear tips on receiver-in-the-canal (RIC) hearing aids. Using these stock ear tips simplifies their work and minimizes their time spent with you. While some patients can obtain a good fit with these tips, many do not and require custom ear molds. Without custom ear molds some patients experience physical discomfort, problems with the hearing aid speakers not staying secure in their ear canals, and feedback (whistling). Unfortunately, some providers will reduce the amplification to get rid of the whistling but the result of this shortcut is not hearing clearly! With the proper ear molds, we have been able to give patients the amplification they need without the feedback. At Hear So Good we never scrimp on ensuring that you have the most comfortable and beneficial fit possible.
