ReSound Sensia

ReSound Sensia

The ReSound Sensia recognizes when a noisy room makes conversation hard and, at its top level, brings in its strongest speech processing automatically.

The ReSound Sensia is a family of premium AI hearing aids built on a simple idea, that you usually want to hear the person you are looking at. It pairs a four-microphone beam with neural network denoising to favor that talker over louder voices elsewhere in the room. We fit the ReSound Sensia for patients who find busy restaurants, gatherings, and group conversations the hardest places to hear.

Following the Voice You Are Facing

Neural network noise reduction is good at separating speech from noise, but in a room full of talkers it can latch onto the most prominent voice, even one two tables away. Sensia counters this by making speech in front of you the primary target, and keeps lower-pitched sound from the sides so you still sense what is around you.

In GN's testing, Sensia made the forward talker most audible for 80% of participants. Independent researchers at Hörzentrum Oldenburg found it favored the person in front more consistently than a competing device. These studies measured which talker was easiest to hear rather than how many more words people understood, which is worth keeping in mind.

Hearing in Noise, Handled Automatically

Sensia adjusts to the room without you reaching for a control.

  • AcoustIQ Sound Sensing. Reads the environment continuously and engages directionality and noise reduction when they help, with 88% greater accuracy than the closest competitor by ReSound's testing.
  • Intelligent Focus. Combines the beam and DNN denoising when steady conversation meets loud noise, automatically in the Sensia 9 microRIE and through a selected program in Sensia 7.
  • Noise Tracker II. Handles noise without speech in it, such as a fan or vacuum cleaner, where a speech-trained network has little to work with.

Connection, Comfort, and Care

The rest of the design is built around wearing Sensia from morning to night.

  • All-Day Battery. At least 24 hours per charge in the rechargeable microRIE, ITC, and ITE, up to about 30 depending on use, with a smaller premium portable charger.
  • Auracast, Working Now. Fully functional Auracast and Bluetooth LE Audio at launch, and in a GN user study people rated Auracast 8 out of 10 against 6 for a hearing loop.
  • IP68 and Easy Upkeep. Nanocoating throughout, home-replaceable microphone filters, and remote fine-tuning through the ReSound Smart 3D app.

Deciding Whether Sensia Suits You

The range runs from the rechargeable microRIE through size 312 and 13 RIE models and custom ITE, ITC, and CIC styles, with CROS options and bimodal versions for Cochlear Nucleus users, including ReSound Enzo IA Bimodal for severe to profound loss in the non-implanted ear. Custom styles do not include DNN denoising at launch.

Sensia works best when you face the person you want to hear, and music needs its own program, since Sensia leaves that choice to you. Its strongest mode waits for a steady pattern before engaging, which keeps the sound stable but means it does not react instantly. We will explain how these trade-offs fit your hearing.

Book an Appointment With Our Audiologist

Finding out whether the ReSound Sensia is a good match for you starts with a comprehensive hearing evaluation. Our audiologist will review your results, ask about the situations where hearing has been most difficult, and explain which style and technology level fit your hearing loss.
